Corporate Commercial Partner - Head of Department - Kent.

This is a rare opportunity to join a Legal 500 law firm in a senior capacity within their corporate and commercial department.

Due to a pending retirement, my client are looking to appoint an experienced corporate commercial solicitor to take over as head of department.  It is likely that you will join as a salaried partner with the prospect of equity within 12 to 18 months should you so wish.  

This is an already successful and profitable department with an existing work and client base and therefore a following is not necessary.  However, at this level, it is anticipated that you will have some clients/contacts who are likely to follow you.

This role will be a mix of fee earning and management, so you will have a caseload of corporate and commercial matters to take over, as well as being responsible for managing a small team of fee earners and support staff.  

Due to the seniority of this position, it is expected that you will have at least 8 years PQE specialising in corporate and commercial work.  You will also have experience of business development and any management and supervisory experience would be needed too.

This is a perfect position if you are currently a senior associate or partner in your current firm, but would now like to head up a department and 'make it your own'.  You will get full support from the business and the other partners but they will also give you the autonomy and freedom to really put your stamp on this department.
