Data Strategy Manager – CRM & CDP migration
Location: London's West End, typically 2 days a week
Salary: Up to £75,000 (DoE)

Term: 12 month FTC

Your work will be covering the EMEA region for a global fashion retailer. Joining a team made up of data and CRM specialists covering multiple areas, including:

  • CRM marketers - responsible for delivery of customer communications across channel, customer experience and journeys, as well as the segmentation strategy for each market.
  • Data and insight teams – dealing with customer insight, reporting and trading based insights as well as planning
  • Data strategy – the team you’ll be a part of. Which includes a couple of analysts data scientists and data strategists.

CRM is responsible for around 30% of this company’s global revenue. So it’s hugely important as a part of the marketing mix, and data is a key resource for competitor advantage.

That’s why they’ve been investing so much, growing their in-house data teams and pulling some of the biggest names in the industry to become a part of their journey. Breaking new ground for a retailer in their space, delivering a series of significant ‘firsts’ in recent years.

They’re at a phase now of pushing forward with a CDP migration, and that’s why your role is so critical. Helping to support on the technical side of CRM data requirements gathering as well as data strategy for the EMEA region, really helping to orchestrate things and successfully land this programme.

Your remit will include:

  • Helping to project manage the data design and data strategy side of the CDP integration, creation of a data dictionary and data feeds
  • Able to go into the technical layer and validate data, ensuring correct flows across the various customer journeys. So will need a clear understanding of data architecture and CRM data flows – from capture, optimisation and enhancement to utilisation
  • Helping to steer data strategy within the EMEA region and sharing best practice amongst regional and global teams – covering everything from raw data capture on a micro-site, how to leverage and make best use of data in segmentations, trigger identification, etc. To how it can be used with various Martech platforms for enhancement of personalisation
  • Champion it’s rollout across the EMEA region, including UAT and ensuring it meets business requirements and objectives
  • Ensuring the team are on top of data requirements arising from across the business, prioritising business requirements and managing relationships with stakeholders accordingly to manage their expectations on delivery
  • Working with data science and decision science teams on utilisation of data for enhancing personalisation and AI model suite

Experience Necessary

  • Sound understanding of data strategy within a CRM environment, and good understanding of data governance principles
  • You ideally have either worked on the data strategy behind the implementation of a CDP before. Or helped with a data migration of such.
  • You really understand how data works for a business. How it can be captured, moves through a business and can be used to deliver enhancements to customer engagement, personalisation, identification of marketing opportunities, etc.
  • Some technical knowledge around SQL, Python, etc.
  • Comfortable navigating large, complex businesses with matrix based teams
  • Solid communication skills, able to articulate ideas and strategies to senior business leaders and establish buy-in
