Digital Designer -Entertainment & Leisure
Location: Central London, twice a week, near Kings Cross
Salary: Up to £45,000 base plus benefits

The sky’s the limit for this rapidly scaling leisure and entertainment organisation as they zero-in on achieving a 5-fold increase in revenue over the coming couple of years; turning them into a £100m operation with over 50 sites across the UK.

The target audience are kids and their parents.

The product is about having fun, being active and play.

So it’s not going to be hard to find creative angles to really bring it all to life via digital channels (Social Media, email & Video) and in physical sites (Digital signage, brochures and literature, billboards, banners and lots more).

Your role is to make the creative really pop. Appealing to kids and parents across whatever medium, whilst also being the creative guardian for the brand. Ensuring consistency across all channels.

They’ve just gone through a re-brand, giving opportunity to rebuild their brand library with fresh creative assets to suit the various mediums needed

You’re going to have an army of socially savvy recruits standing by at each of the company’s locations, ready to produce content in the form of TikToks, Reels or Threads which will need curation and organisation from a creative standpoint. Ensuring consistency even across multi-media and video.

Although an established operation, the business is still relatively lean on processes and infrastructure. This extends to the maturity of the Creative team. Essentially with this being the first appointment within a new in-house studio. There’s a planned phase of substantial growth ahead, which in turn will likely see the ‘one person’ design studio quickly evolve into becoming more of a much larger creative studio too.

As part of your role, you will be managing the various requests arising from across the business. These can be from individual venues to support special promotion nights or events. Or from HQ operations, needing new multi-media creative including videos or photography for use across all venues.

So good communication skills when taking and shaping the briefs will be important, along with prioritisation skills to ensure everything is well managed and successfully delivered to whilst maintaining brand and quality standards.

Interview process

There will be two stages, the first being 1-2-1 via video interview.

The second is an in-person meet at their London HQ and will require a task to be delivered, coupled with a behavioural/competency style interview.

Key Experience Needed

  • Strong experience with design and creative tools, principally the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Good knowledge of working with video editing software, such as Adobe Premier Pro or similar
  • Strong stakeholder management experience – this position will speak for Creative/Design for the business and you have a direct line to the Head of Brand Marketing, CMO and CEO in some instances
  • Experience designing for a youth related audiences, ideally a good exposure to marketing to children, parents and young adults
  • Exposure to bleeding edge creative, the brand isn’t looking to rest on it’s laurels, so exposure to video, animation and other non-traditional channels will be plus.
