Java Developer - Front-end Specialist

 £60,000 - £75,000 p/a

This technology company specialises in connected transport solutions. They have over 50 years of industry experience and expertise. They combine that background knowledge with agile development methods, data gathering, advanced algorithms and BI reporting, so that they have the tools to deliver 21st century software solutions.

The work is certainly challenging, so you'll need to like working in a fast paced organisation that constantly innovate and strive to add continuous value to their clients.

Having recently secured multi-million-pound contracts, they are establishing a Digital Products Team in a new prestigious office in Milton Keynes. This is one of the initial roles for that team that will form the companies future development capability and is key to enabling their growth strategy.

They are in the process of developing a green field product that will enable their vision of creating passenger centric travel solutions.
Developers will be responsible to produce software designs in line with user requirements, implementing these through various technologies in accordance with user stories and business quality standards.

KEY ELEMENTS
• Development of software designs 
• Delivering quality code in line with the overall delivery plan
• Actively participate in time box planning and solution design
• Implement software using the latest versions of Java, working within the Eclipse and IntelliJ IDEs
• Develop and test solutions to business problems 
• Work with the solution architect to refine the software architecture
• Work with the project managers and solution architect to estimate user stories
• Work as part of the Development Team, closely with other Designer/Developers, Business/Systems Analysts, Software Architects and Testers

Educated to degree level, or equivalent with 5-10 years work-related experience in software design and development, with real experience of Java based technologies.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

o JavaScript / TypeScript
o Java
o Spring
o Linux
o AWS or other cloud solution
o Experience with a Front-End Framework, ideally Angular
o Unit testing / mocking frameworks, ideally JUnit/Mockito/Karma/Jasmine and/or Protractor

BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE:

o JPA/Hibernate
o Relational/No SQL Databases
o Experience implementing containerisation (Docker) and microservices
o Experience implementing and using Continuous Integration and Build Pipelines (Ansible, GULP, NPM, Maven, Bower)
o Experience using GIT Source Control
o Awareness of messaging technologies and principles (Rabbit MQ)

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 d.o.e + Benefits package.
