Lead Data Analyst
Location: Central London offices – Hybrid - 2-3 days per week in office
Salary: £65,000 to £75,000 plus benefits

You’ll be joining a data consultancy, one who specialises in working with customer and marketing data to drive actionable insights and helping businesses optimise marketing, CRM and media spend. Delivering meaningful uplifts on marketing ROI, improving customer experiences through relevance, personalisation and engagement.

Projects you’ll be working on will typically involve Digital and CRM data, analysing CRM journeys, running experimentations and testing hypothesis, looking at both on and offline channels. As well as coding using SQL, and pulling digital data and translating it into behavioural insight using GA4.

You’ll have a lot of variety of projects to get your teeth into and will likely include a mix of:

  • Customer analytics and segmentations
  • Channel optimisation
  • Dashboarding and reporting
  • Digital insight generation
  • Customer journey mapping

But your remit isn’t just about technical coding, as a lead you’ll be as much client facing as you as hands-on with the data. We’re also looking for the ability to develop strategy from data insight, data story-telling skills to be really up to scratch, as well as presentation and insight generation and data narration skills to be on point too.

One of your main clients will be in the FMCG space, but because the team you’ll be joining is relatively small, they tend to work closely together on client deliveries and objectives. So there’s going to be plenty of scope for you to get involved with some of their other clients from automotive to consumer tech industries and others too.

As a Lead, you will be expected to be a strong voice in client meetings. Sharing ideas, challenging the client’s thinking or expanding upon ideas and opportunities with your knowledge and experience.

Often speaking with the client to get under the skin of their challenges. Then talking about how using their data in inventive and creative ways can help unblock the issue, show them how to tackle the problem or even create the solution for them.

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • Very strong data story-telling and insight generation skills
  • Able to lead projects end to end, from initial business problem, translation to data problem, to recommendations and actionable insight, into demonstrable change
  • Have experience working with both digital and customer data, tackling marketing related business challenges
  • Able to code in SQL and knowledge of GA4, as well as other tools such as Python, SAS or R, and visualisation tools like PowerBI or Tableau
  • Have knowledge of advanced analytics techniques such as predictive analytics, modelling, logistic regression, etc.
  • Have an understanding of data visualisation and dashboarding
  • Good knowledge of data experimentation
  • Some experience of working with either loyalty data or any other type of customer relational data
  • Commercially savvy and able to bring together data centric solutions to business related problems
  • Comfortable working in entrepreneurial, unstructured and autonomous environments without lots of rules and red tape
  • Good data story telling skills, able to give data meaning to non-technical audiences
