Job Title: Senior Data Analyst - Marketing Data Consultancy

Location: Can be principally remote within the UK, but will involve some periodic travel to London offices. There’s also the option to be based from London offices a number of days a week if you want to.

Salary: Up to £65,000 base plus benefits, including pension and Vitality healthcare

An established data consultancy specializing in helping clients solve customer and marketing business problems through the analysis of customer and marketing data.

Projects encompass business intelligence, reporting, digital analytics, and traditional customer analysis. As well as application of advanced analytics techniques and predictive modelling.

The client base is a mix of retailers, consumer technology, retail financial services brands, publishers and pharma companies.

So there’s a real diversity to the work and therefore learning opportunity too.

One day you could be working to help optimise marketing attribution or econometrics. The next could be looking at a firm’s digital customer funnel and applying analytics to digital data to understand what’s happening and why. Or working with a retail bank to understand customer lifetime value and the application of propensity models or building something for next best action.

When projects arise they’re triaged by the team lead, identifying who is best placed to support from a technical and knowledge perspective, as well as client engagement and workload balancing perspective too.

Initially you will be given a broad exposure to identify your sweet spot and area of interest. The ambition is for the team to play to these, and in doing so, not only feed you with the kind of things you enjoy. But also ensures client’s get great outcomes from the work too.

Job Description:

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a key role in leading client engagements. Your responsibilities will include understanding and challenging the business issues, translating them into data challenges, and determining the best approach to solve them.

You will need to be hands-on with the analysis work, but there will also be peers and juniors working on either the same, or at least similar projects around you. So there’s always knowledge and support if it’s needed.

Following this, you will need to give the data meaning. Identify compelling stories and insights held within. Additionally, you will be responsible for presenting findings to non-technical audiences in an engaging manner, providing meaning to the data.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead client engagements, from understanding and challenging business issues to get to the bottom of what’s needed
  • Translate business issues into data challenges and determine the best approach
  • Conduct analysis using the most appropriate approach and output, from data visualisations to the application of advanced analytics techniques and predictive modelling, attribution analysis, MMM or even econometrics
  • Interpret and identify the stories and insights within data, able to give them meaning and deliver them in a compelling manner
  • Present findings to non-technical audiences in an engaging manner using the most appropriate means for positive engagement
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts
  • Collaborate with other senior analysts to support team development and growth

 

Experience necessary:

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in a marketing-focused role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R)
  • Experience with advanced analytics techniques and predictive modelling (regression, marketing attribution, MMM, econometrics, propensity models, etc.)
  • Experience working with digital data and analysis (Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics)
  • Have experience of working with one or more cloud platforms to build data pipelines (GCP, Azure or AWS)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage non-technical audiences
  • Ability to lead and guide a team of junior analysts
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics)
  • Must have the ability to live and work in the UK unrestricted
