Role: CRM Campaign Manager – Fine Wine
Location: Central London, 3 days a week
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000, plus 15% bonus, pension, healthcare, etc.

What makes a wine collectable?
Why would someone pay £42k for a case of Chateau Lafite Rothschild? While others begrudge paying more than £8 for a Pinot…
How would you manage a multi-channel CRM programme targeting those who know and appreciate wine?

Who understand the different regions, what to buy and when. Who are also prepared to pay for quality and prestige. Who also typically either have a stock in bond, or own cellars stocked with incredible vintages, from some of the most prestigious brands around the world.

Campaigns are a mixture of digital, print and event-based activities, with a well defined promotional calendar showcasing different regions, products and producers across the year.

You’ll have the support of two marketing executives, helping to get campaigns up and together. Organising events, getting the mechanics behind audience data, messaging, creative, etc. all pulled together too.

You will be balancing between strategic planning side of CRM, ensuring campaign plans are sharp yet balanced enough to achieve commercial objectives. Whilst also project managing and overseeing the delivery of campaigns with your team, and effectively measuring their impact and ROI.

From a planning perspective, you’ll have support from the trade side of the business and producers. Providing insight on what’s coming down path, where opportunities and consumer interest is arising and moving to. Things are always changing too. What was brilliant one year could be vinegar the next. A ‘must have’ could also gradually lose its shine as tastes evolve and consumer interest moves with the market.

Hopefully you can see this isn’t a standard type of ‘crm role’. It’s rather unique because of the industry, the target audience you’re looking to engage with and how the luxury and prestigious end of this market operates.

Experience Needed

  • Ideally you have knowledge and experience of marketing within the wines or spirits market
  • Must have a background in multi-channel CRM marketing programmes, with experience defining a strategic calendar – pulling campaign plans together to meet commercial objectives
  • You understand the luxury goods market, and how to market collectables to high net worth individuals
  • Knowledge of fine wines, including regions, terminology, customer expectations and how to market to them successfully
  • Good understanding on how to utilise data and insights to inform campaign planning
  • Experience in management of a small team, or at least coaching and mentoring junior team members.
