Digital Analyst – GA4
Location: London offices – 3 days per week
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 plus benefits

If I were being cynical, I could sum this role up in one sentence… “Big drinks brand needs some help sorting out their Google Analytics data as they’re in a bit of a pickle after the GA3 to GA4 migration came with a few hiccups.”

But that’s a massive oversimplification of a much more complex situation, and one that seems to be echoed across the industry right now. Well the GA one anyway!

Right now they’re working between the two platforms – and still having to use the old one for reporting, because they can’t trust the new one yet because it’s all gone a bit skew-whiff with the numbers.

But they need to get the new one straightened up and the migration completed – get it to the point that it’s all working right and the data and be trusted.

So that’s where you come in.

Question is, can you do it?

The role can be broken down into three parts:

First part is to get under the hood, find out what errors have been made and fix them so the data reconciles correctly and reporting becomes accurate.

Second part, what’s coming out of the team right now definitely could be better. So what can you do to help identify areas for standardisation, automation and get it implemented?

Third part, once report standardisation is in place it’s time to get into interrogation mode and building an insight layer on top. Start adding value to the reporting suite rather than it just being a production line. So the next step will be to look at where opportunities to add value in this way exist.

The Team

This role sits agency side – and is a solo contributor position as a Digital Analyst on this account. You will be joining the data arm of the agency group working out of their London offices typically 3 days a week.

Your report line will be to the client services lead on the client account, but with a dotted line to the head of data. From a learning and development perspective, you will have peers and seniors around you to learn from as well as mentor and bounce ideas off of day to day.

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • Able to code in SQL
  • Good knowledge of GA4 and knowledge of other GA tools (GA360, etc)
  • Have an understanding of data visualisation and dashboarding
  • Comfortable working in entrepreneurial, unstructured and autonomous environments without lots of rules and red tape
  • Good data story telling skills, able to give data meaning to non-technical audiences
