Role: Marketing Manager – offline channels
Location: London or Hampshire offices – 2-3 times a week from either with rest from home
Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 (based on experience) plus benefits

DM, direct response, campaign management, lead generation, acquisition marketing or simply ‘Marketing Manager’.

You choose whatever buzzwords you like, the bottom line is, you’re going to be given control of a rather well funded marketing budget, and given the mandate to drive a volume of leads which track back to business growth objectives.

The channels you own will be offline (typical press, direct mail, inserts, door drops, etc), the bigger picture will dovetail in with all others to deliver the right customer journeys and results in new customer growth.

The business you’ll be joining is a rapidly scaling financial services organisation who specialise in the over-50’s market. So the channels you’ll oversee are not only growth ones, but critical to the success of the organisation because of the bias towards offline by the target demographic.

In recent years their acquisition rate has gone through the roof, and success has been realised by a mix of marketing opportunity and timing, coupled with clever marketing and diversification of product portfolio.

They’re launching a range of new products which will lead to further growth opportunities over the coming year and beyond. Looking to diversify portfolio offering to suit a wider range of audience. This will extend into both insurance and assurance product categories for the over 50’s.

About the role

Responsible for performance and optimisation of each channel and for each product, you will own the end to end, including audience selection and targeting strategies. Working with agency partners on creative and campaign builds through to fulfilment.

You will be handling both media and creative agencies. With the latter, you’ll be able to put your creative juices to work in both briefing, brainstorming and critiquing their work.

Ensuring each campaign’s creative and message is on point. Calls to action and messaging connects up across both on and offline, and put in place the proper capabilities to effectively measure ROI and CPA, taking account of cross channel attribution.

You’re going to have a very healthy budget within your control, having more than tripling their marketing for 2022.

You’ll be reporting to the Head of Marketing, in a team made up of both digital and offline marketing specialists.

There will also be team support in the form of marketing execs, who will help with operational execution.

This really is a fantastic opportunity if you’re the kind of person who’s got a performance mindset and love getting into the nitty-gritty of campaigns. Working out the whys behind over and under performance, coming up with solutions and not afraid to test and trial new things to deliver impressive results.

Key Experience Necessary

  • Solid offline direct response marketing credentials with knowledge of direct mail in particular, as well as other offline direct response media channels
  • Good analytical skills. Able to evidence use of data to inform targeting and media strategies
  • Results focused. With an astute focus on measurement and optimisation of campaigns
  • Experienced in budgetary and agency management – particularly working with media and creative agencies
  • Any experience in subscriptions based, or regulated industry businesses a real plus

Must be able to live and work in the UK unrestricted.
