Role:                     Chief Marketing Officer
Location:             Offices based in London – Mix of office and remote working
Package:              Six figure base plus generous stock package

When your product is centred around data; as a marketer, your challenge is taking something incredibly complex, distilling it into clear, simple and compelling marketing materials and communications which really cut through and deliver results.

As the Chief Marketing Officer for this business, you’ve got a really powerful roadmap ahead of you. Helping the business build it’s brand recognition and reputation, as well as lead nurture and generation programme and full lifecycle and product comms too - for a product that's not just unique in its field. But incredibly complex and sophisticated, as it's centred around such a massive and complex data resource.

About the business

The company you’d be joining has been around for circa 3 years. They’re backed by Angel Investors and because of just how innovative their product is, they’ve had a series of companies look to buy them out already.

But this isn’t the plan, as there’s a long roadmap ahead and the product still has a lot of expansion opportunities into new industries worth exploring. This is what makes this opportunity so unique and exciting, as there’s so many avenues you could take, and so much growth in its future.

Their product works with consumer level transactional data from most EU and UK financial institutions. It’s all anonymised data with low latency. They’ve got 5 years of it, so are able to produce information which is either right up to date, and has it’s finger on the pulse of what consumers are actually doing right now. Or can be used historically to see trends over time, or how things are evolving when local, regional or international events happen.

It’s an established automated solution which connects directly with clients. It’s a cool technical product, and something you’ll enjoy telling the story of to the world.

This is a brand new role, arising as the business is mature enough to need the services a marketing powerhouse at its helm as they accelerate their growth.

You will be reporting to the COO and will own everything marketing across the business. Defining the strategic roadmap for the marketing function. Identifying priorities for its growth and development.  Identifying the quick wins as well as longer-term objectives.

Setting out budget requirements and defining resource roadmaps and priorities to build your team in order to deliver to business objectives.

Some already prioritised elements include:

  • Create the marketing strategy and oversee its delivery through the team
  • Building the brand – this will be through key media outlets and through PR and comms
  • Establishing and content strategy, and how that feeds into a lead generation programme. Likely looking to implement an ABM strategy

  • Build an environment which supports robust test and learn strategies. Always looking to push boundaries and open up new channels which could deliver value for the company

Rewards:

The one element we’re not able to be too open with in a public forum is the salary and package, this is because of the complexities surrounding how it’s structured.

But we can say the base salary is well into six figures, and the stock is given like a bonus, with the first being post probation completion (6 months), and has no strike price.

If you’re interested, here’s what we need to see from you

  • Significant senior leadership experience of marketing teams in B2B data/tech/SaaS space
  • Have a depth of experience in building and leading high performing teams across the marketing mix
  • You have a deep pedigree of experience across most marketing disciplines including PR, Brand, digital, social, growth/acquisition and CRM
