Email Marketing Manager (Senior Account Manager)
Working set up: 8 days a month in office via booking rota
Office location: Central London, offices overlooking the Thames
Salary: Up to circa £45,000 plus benefits.

The role itself is a fairly typical data centric email marketing remit. Looking at customer data to understand where key trigger points are and what customer journeys need to look like to support the right outcomes from these. Also looking at automation of campaigns and how to get the processes working correctly to support this.

There are some nuances, such as needing some SQL knowledge to do a little hands-on work with databases. As well as Faststats and IBM Acoustic, but again this is also a relatively light touch.

The businesses you’ll be doing this for are high profile central Government offices. Their communications and campaigns are delivered to tens of millions of people, both within industries and also to the public.

They’re very well embedded accounts, even to the point where the agency hosts their data too.

The team you’ll be joining is made up of an Account Director, a couple of Account Managers and an Account Executive. You will manage a couple of these folks yourself, taking lead on projects and engaging with the client. Understanding their needs and translating them into actionable briefs for the team.

In addition, you’ll also scope out the costings for the work too and put those proposals forward to clients. Gaining buy-in to any special project works they’re asking to be undertaken. So knowing how to cost things out will be really beneficial.

One of the big things they’re keen on is ambition. If you’ve got a sharp eye on growing your career agency side, wanting to move up to an AD level role in future, and get what needs to be achieved to make that happen. Able to bring that ambition into focus and delivery of results, then this is the kind of place able to reward that achievement with recognition and promotion.

So beyond the role, what’s unique and interesting about this opportunity?

The company is principally data and CRM based agency who work with wide range of large-scale, high profile brands. In many instances they also host their data warehouses for them too.

Client relationships are well established, and there’s even scope for projects to go up the funnel more, as the business is building its footprint with clients on more strategic agenda projects too.

The company describes themselves as a ‘big family’, and as such, not only do people enjoy what they do. But they enjoy being with the people they’re doing it with. One such example of this was with the amount of former team members who look to re-join the business years later. That’s not something you hear as a recruiter every day.

What’s going to help you land this role?

  • Data centric CRM and email marketing experience gained in an agency environment
  • Knowledge of SQL, as well as Faststats or IBM Acoustic
  • Previous mentoring/management experience of AE’s or SAE’s
  • Good project management skills
  • Able to front a client relationship
  • Confident in bringing together client proposals and costings for projects
