Job Title:               International Product Marketing Manager - EdTech
Location:               London or Sussex – able to work flexibly 2-3 days from office/home
Salary:                    £40,000 to £55,000 plus benefits

One of the most popular reasons someone chooses to look outside their existing employer for a new one is because of a lack of opportunity.

So naturally, one of the most popular reasons for a role being hired is to back-fill someone who got tired of waiting for an opportunity and just moved on.

That’s not the story here.

In this example, the hiring manager used to do this job. So the reason for this hire is to back fill their role due to their promotion.

Not only does that mean you’ve got someone who’s able to offer some fantastic support and guidance in how to really excel. But the firm you’ll be joining does a good job in recognising and rewarding from within too.

The Team and Role

The team you’ll be joining is made up of two directors and six product marketing managers split evenly. Each Product Marketing Manager has the support of one direct report who is a Marketing Executive.

The firm you’ll be joining is well established in the EdTech space, partnering with a broad range of Universities and offers a global reach, engaging with students all over the world.

Your role will be to handle the product marketing for a set of student recruitment centres with the aim of driving student enrolment numbers onto University partner’s courses.

The partners are all UK Universities, and the target audience are principally international students from across the world.

The campaigns you handle will be targeting three distinct groups, these being: Students | Agents | Sponsors

What you’ll be handling will include:

  • Go to market planning. Ensuring things align properly across channels and are executed well
  • Liaison with University partners, ensuring their brands are appropriately promoted and represented in each product campaign
  • Ensuring consistency of product and programme launches across the board

Although the firm is well established and has a proven model for doing most of this. There’s scope for bringing a fresh perspective and introducing new ideas to innovate and engage with audiences. Especially considering emerging technologies or cultural elements which may impact and mean trying new channels and approaches could lead to more effective results.

The channel mix for this is quite broad covering both on and offline mix, and will include collateral production, brochures, website and mini-site promotions. Plus campaigns go on all across the year, with spikes to drive enrolment at key calendar windows which align with typical term dates.

You will be engaging with University partners regularly, engaging them with marketing plans and ensuring alignment with their own brands. Sharing initiatives which will include new product launches and product enrichment plans too.

Performance measures of the role itself will include:

  • Student signups to this new education platform at key enrolment windows
  • New product launches and go to market execution
  • Increasing diversity metrics of both students themselves and courses signed up to

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Education or Edtech marketing experience will be a real benefit
  • Previous experience in product marketing
  • You’ve worked with external third parties before – having to pull together plans and agree objectives in partnership with them
  • Not afraid to experiment with marketing techniques and channels in an effort to engage an audience
  • Customer centric mentality
  • Any experience in international marketing would be beneficial
