Salary:             £50,000 to £63,000 (based on experience)
Benefits:          10% on target bonus, 25 days leave, 10% employer cont. pension,

First thing to highlight, this isn’t your run of the mill marketing strategy role.

Within well established firms, most of the time you’re picking up on something of a conveyor belt that’s been running for a while. With your turn just being a case of ensuring the wheels don’t fall off.

Sure, there may be the opportunity to think about new products launching and how they fit into the overall plan. But rarely do you come across a role like this. Looking to help an established brand pivot.

Shifting its position around brand strategy, market strategy, propositions offerings and customer communications to adapt to an evolved landscape it finds itself in.

So where to start?

Getting inside the head of the customer, understanding what makes them tick is where you’ll likely begin. Using that insight to help build a marketing strategy which identified brand priorities and informs the direction of travel for this brand.

Connecting the dots between propositions, brand and customer marketing. Ensuring there’s appropriate alignment between these team with the brand strategy, commercial objectives, brand priorities and delivering the right experience too.

Your role will be heavily centred around strategy and planning. Acting as key influencer of each team responsible for bringing this to life.

Influencing propositions teams to tailor their offering to better align to the revised target audiences. Cutting through their complexity to create compelling offerings which align with marketing and brand objectives.

Providing guidance to the teams responsible for customer and brand communications in how to position and amplify USP’s, creating clear, concise and compelling messaging in their campaigns.

TO SUCCEED

You’ve got to be the kind of person who likes to challenge concepts. You’re influential and comfortable persuading people on your strategies, able to articulate yourself and convey ideas in ways which get people onboard.

This is a business on a journey of change. Evolving their offering and brand to fit with a new competitive environment. It’s an exciting time with lots of scope for impact as the business takes this journey. This is the start of that, so you’re going to be able to play an instrumental role in this, and it could be a career defining opportunity.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Experience in marketing/brand planning and strategy from a high-profile consumer facing brand (can be from agency or client environments)
  • Able to demonstrate the impact on thinking for a brand, and the successes you’ve had in this
  • Not just had a background in comms delivery – hopefully it’s clear this role doesn’t align that way
  • Insight led, data centric personality – you’re confident in your ability to get inside the head of customers and identify their needs and interests from this. Using this to story-tell and influence propositions and customer comms teams
  • Confident in your ability to make the complex simple. Identifying they key messaging or insights and successfully leveraging them
