Technical CRM Manager
Location: Hertfordshire – 2 times a week
Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 plus bonus and benefits

Tell me someone who doesn’t love a holiday?

The sun and sea, the snow and ski, or even the stay-vacay!

Choosing your OOO victim, inputting their contact details and clicking ‘send automatic replies’. Then it’s machine off and every issue that’s been junking up your inbox isn’t yours anymore. It’s your OOO victim’s.

No, the only thing you’ve got to worry about is whether having a beer at 6am at the Weatherspoon’s Red Lion is too uncouth. Or if you could pull off that it’s definitely 5pm somewhere… you’re at an airport after all!

But what’s this all got to do with a job being a Technical CRM Manager?

Let’s wind back the clock…

Back to the moments before we had something like this all to look forward to.

To the weeks and months where we had no holiday booked… but we were looking.

We’d been running searches on websites. Checked out a few tour operators we’d travelled with before. So their website recognised us.

That’s when the CRM started to kick in.

The CDP lifted our information and what we’d been searching for, and utilised that to deliver a series of highly targeted, relevant and personalised messages in our inbox. Each pulling on different features and interests until, one day, at the right time. The right message with dynamic content lands which piques interest and leads to a booking.

This is what you’ll be doing.

Leading the technical build, QA and deployment of dynamic content email marketing CRM on behalf of a travel company.

At the moment what’s in place is relatively basic. So over the coming year there’s going to be a lot of emphasis on the quick wins. Building the infrastructure and foundations within their CDP (Bloomreach), and building all customer lifecycle journey emails too.

Ultimately by the end of your first year, you will likely have got an MVP in place which has world class basics to build upon. Including automations and integration of dynamic content into emails.

You’ll be responsible for one direct report and reporting yourself to the head of the CRM function.

Over the coming year, the team you’ll be joining is going to be responsible for a number of ‘firsts’ within the business. Pioneering the adoption of new methodologies and approaches to CRM and lifecycle management. Including the introduction of new martech to support a lot of it too.

The business itself has been around a long time, and has a very strong family centric ethos, which also translates to their approach to work/life balance. Which is amongst the best in the industry.

Experience Necessary

  • Good technical knowledge of working with a CDP, either Bloomreach, Braze or Salesforce
  • Have a good technical background in email marketing – the build, testing, deployment, etc.
  • Previous experience of working in a customer base management/CRM or lifecycle marketing environment
  • Comfortable taking on a build role like this which is going to require foundation and ground level building and up – as it’s a relatively greenfield environment at present
  • Comfortable with pacey, entrepreneurial environments

**Able to live and work in the UK unrestricted.**
